Knowing The Hujjatul Islaam Imam Al Ghazali


Hujjatul Islam Abu Hamid Muhammad ibn Muhammad Alghozali Qoddasallohu Sirroh, is a man of knowledge of ocean of the knowledge, leaders of the glorious heart, who would never be recovered amongst Syafi’iyyah or more until the end of this period, none equal with him in knowledge and essays.

He is the great beauty of his greater level, as a lecturer of the Sunnah Rosulullaah (The book of Allah) Shallallaahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam.

Sayyid Bakri said in Kifayatul Atqiyaa waminhajul Asyfiyaa page 98:
Hujjatul Islam

“And no one disagrees with Ihyaa Ulumiddin unless perverses deceive, even some wise people said; For the sake of Allah, in name of Allah, if Allah raises the dead are not necessarily but they commanded to the living, by what is in the book of Ihya Ulumuddin and there are merits for beginner, intermediate, and advance students, because there are three levels of appropriateness for the scientific in it”

عليكم بملازمة احياء علوم الدين فهو موضع نظر الله وموضع رضاالله فمن احب وطالعه وعمل بما فيه فقد استوجب محبة الله ومحبة رسوله وملائكته وأنبياءه وأوليائه وجمع بين الشريعة والطريقة والحقيقة في الدنيا والآخرة وصار عالما في الملك والملكوت

“Keep you –guys- to regularize Ihyaa Ulumuddin Scripture, for reach of Allah and HIS pleasure. Whoever loves, analyzes and practices what is in it, surely it was entitled to the love and devotion to Allah and HIS apostle’s, His angels’ love, the love of His Prophets, His love for the saints, and means it was compiled between shariah,Thariqat, and the reality of the world and the Hereafter, and there be like  the’ Alim in Alam Almulk and Alam Almulk Almalakuut (here and hereafter)”.

محمد بن محمد بن محمد أبو حامد الغزالي ولد سنة خمسين وأربعمائة وتفقه على إمام الحرمين, وبرع في علوم كثيرة, وله مصنفات منتشرة في فنون متعددة, فكان من أذكياء العالم في كل ما يتكلم فيه, وساد في شبيبته حتى إنه درس بالنظامية ببغداد في سنة أربع وثمانين وله أربع وثلاثون سنة, فحضر عنده رءوس العلماء, وكان ممن حضر عنده ابن عقيل وأبو الخطاب من رءوس الحنابلة, فتعجبوا من فصاحته واطلاعه.

He was born in 450 AH, he studied fiqh to Imam of Haramain. He was skilful in a lot of knowledge. He had many articles from various disciplines. So he included one of the scholars in this world every what was discussed. He had been a leader since his youth, where he taught at Al-Nidhamiyyah in Baghdad in his age of 34, and attended by leading scholars. Among those present were Abul Khattab and Ibn Aqil, and where both were leaders of the Hanbali madhab. They were amazed by his skills and vision.

ﻭﺭﺣﻞ ﺇﻟﻰ ﺍﻟﺸﺎﻡ ﻓﺄﻗﺎﻡ ﺑﻬﺎ ﺑﺪﻣﺸﻖ ﻭﺑﻴﺖ ﺍﻟﻤﻘﺪﺱ ﻣﺪﺓ ، ﻭﺻﻨﻒ ﻓﻲ ﻫﺬﻩ ﺍﻟﻤﺪﺓ ﻛﺘﺎﺑﻪ ” ﺇﺣﻴﺎﺀ ﻋﻠﻮﻡ ﺍﻟﺪﻳﻦ ” ﻭﻫﻮ ﻛﺘﺎﺏ ﻋﺠﻴﺐ ، ﻭﻳﺸﺘﻤﻞ ﻋﻠﻰ ﻋﻠﻮﻡ ﻛﺜﻴﺮﺓ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﺸﺮﻋﻴﺎﺕ ، ﻭﻣﻤﺰﻭﺝ ﺑﺄﺷﻴﺎﺀ ﻟﻄﻴﻔﺔ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﺘﺼﻮﻑ ﻭﺃﻋﻤﺎﻝ ﺍﻟﻘﻠﻮﺏ ، ﻟﻜﻦ ﻓﻴﻪ ﺃﺣﺎﺩﻳﺚ ﻛﺜﻴﺮﺓ ﻏﺮﺍﺋﺐ ﻭﻣﻨﻜﺮﺍﺕ ، ﻭﻣﻨﻬﺎ ﻣﺎ ﻫﻮ ﻣﻮﺿﻮﻉ ، ﻛﻤﺎ ﻳﻮﺟﺪ ﻓﻲ ﻏﻴﺮﻩ ﻣﻦ ﻛﺘﺐ ﺍﻟﻔﺮﻭﻉ ﺍﻟﺘﻲ ﻳﺴﺘﺪﻝ ﺑﻬﺎ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﻟﺤﻼﻝ ﻭﺍﻟﺤﺮﺍﻡ ، ﻛﻤﺎ ﻳﻮﺟﺪ ﻓﻲ ﻏﻴﺮﻩ ﻣﻦ ﻛﺘﺐ ﺍﻟﻔﺮﻭﻉ ﺍﻟﺘﻲ ﻳﺴﺘﺪﻝ ﺑﻬﺎ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﻟﺤﻼﻝ ﻭﺍﻟﺤﺮﺍﻡ ﻓﺎﻟﻜﺘﺎﺏ ﺍﻟﻤﻮﺿﻮﻉ ﻟﻠﺮﻗﺎﺋﻖ ﻭﺍﻟﺘﺮﻏﻴﺐ ﻭﺍﻟﺘﺮﻫﻴﺐ ﺃﺳﻬﻞ ﺃﻣﺮﺍ ﻣﻦ ﻏﻴﺮﻩ ،

He moved to Syria, and then resided in there, also in Jerusalem at a time, he wrote in his book Ihya` Ulumiddin at that time. Ihya is an amazing book until now, he took varying shariah , and combined with the complex matters of knowledge,tasawwuf and heart deeds, but in the Ihya there are many Gharib hadith, forbidden, some even fabricated as also found in other books of the books of the branch (Furu’) where the hadiths became arguments of halal and haram. The books were composed for  RAQAA`IQ (soften heart), TARGHIB (energize) and TARHIB (making fear) what were more simplified than others.

ثم عاد إلى بلده طوس فأقام بها, وابتنى رباطا واتخذ دارا حسنة, وغرس فيها بستانا أنيقا, وأقبل على تلاوة القرآن وحفظ الاحاديث الصحاح

Then he returned to his country, Thus, he lived in there and built ribath. He made a nice home. He raised beautiful gardens. He set / pursued concentrating in Tilawatil and memorizing the Quran, and also saheeh ul hadiths.

ﻭﻛﺎﻧﺖ ﻭﻓﺎﺗﻪ ﻓﻲ ﻳﻮﻡ ﺍﻻﺛﻨﻴﻦ ﺍﻟﺮﺍﺑﻊ ﻋﺸﺮ ﻣﻦ ﺟﻤﺎﺩﻯ ﺍﻵﺧﺮﺓ ﻣﻦ ﻫﺬﻩ ﺍﻟﺴﻨﺔ، ﻭﺩﻓﻦ ﺑﻄﻮﺱ ﺭﺣﻤﻪ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﺗﻌﺎﻟﻰ، ﻭﻗﺪ ﺳﺄﻟﻪ ﺑﻌﺾ ﺃﺻﺤﺎﺑﻪ ﻭﻫﻮ ﻓﻲ ﺍﻟﺴﻴﺎﻕ ﻓﻘﺎﻝ : ﺃﻭﺻﻨﻲ، ﻓﻘﺎﻝ : ﻋﻠﻴﻚ ﺑﺎﻻﺧﻼﺹ، ﻭﻟﻢ ﻳﺰﻝ ﻳﻜﺮﺭﻫﺎ ﺣﺘﻰ ﻣﺎﺕ ﺭﺣﻤﻪ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ .

He died on Monday 24th Jumadal Hijriyah (505 H). He was buried in Thus, may Allah Ta’ala has mercy on him. Most of his friends asked him, in his situation still naza`, they said: probate me, then he said: Keep your faith with sincerity, he repeated the sentence until he died, rahimahullaah (may Allah please with him)
